Privacy Policy

The operator (“we”) establishes this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) regarding the handling of user information, including personal information, in the app “memorian’s journal” (“the App”).

1. Information We Handle and How

The App does not collect your information on our servers. The information the App handles, by how it is obtained, is as follows.

(1) Information stored only on your device (we do not obtain it)

This information is stored only in a database on your device and, except for the voice input described in (2), is never transmitted to us or to any external server.

(2) Information sent to OS speech recognition during voice input

When you use the voice memo feature, audio from the microphone is converted to text by your device’s speech recognition. On iOS this is provided by Apple, and on Android by the device’s recognition service (typically Google); audio may be sent to them. The recorded audio is not stored by the App; only the resulting text is saved on your device.

(3) Information obtained through the contact form

When you use the contact form, we obtain the inquiry category, your message, and any attachments. We do not ask you to enter your email address in the form. The form uses Google Forms, and responses are stored in our Google account. If you voluntarily include contact details (such as an email address) in your message, we use them solely to respond to that inquiry.

(4) Statistics provided by app stores

The App Store and Google Play provide us with aggregated, anonymized statistics (e.g., downloads, crashes, general usage). These are collected by the stores (Apple/Google) at the OS/store level, not through any SDK embedded in the App, and do not identify you.

The App currently contains no advertising, behavioral analytics, or tracking SDKs. It also does not collect IP addresses, cookies, ADID/IDFA or similar identifiers, or location. If this changes, we will update this Policy and the relevant store disclosures before any such data is collected.

2. Purposes of Use

We use the information we obtain for the following purposes:

  1. To provide, maintain, protect, and improve the App;
  2. To respond to inquiries about the App;
  3. To address conduct that violates our Terms, this Policy, or similar rules;
  4. To notify you of changes to this Policy and similar documents.

3. Use of External Services

The App uses the following external services. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your prior consent, except:

  1. as required by law;
  2. where necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property; or
  3. as otherwise permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws.

The use of external services in Section 3 occurs based on your own actions (voice input or contacting us).

5. Security Measures

We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of user information and to otherwise manage it safely. The security of information stored on your device also depends on your device’s security settings. Information obtained through the contact form is managed in our access-restricted Google account.

6. Requests for Disclosure, etc.

If you, as the individual, request notification of purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of third-party provision of your retained personal data under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we will, after confirming your identity, respond without delay in accordance with the law. Please make such requests via the contact form. For a request to be notified of the purpose of use or for disclosure, we may charge a fee of 1,000 yen (tax included) per request, plus any actual costs (such as postage).

Note that memos and similar data are stored only on your device; you can delete them at any time in the App, and uninstalling the App erases them all.

Minors may use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian. If a minor submits personal information (such as contact details they choose to include) through the contact form, they should obtain a parent’s or guardian’s consent in advance. If we learn that we have obtained personal information from a minor without such consent, we will promptly delete it within a reasonable scope.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Policy as necessary. For material changes, we will announce the updated content and effective date within the App or by an appropriate method such as our website.

10. Governing Language

This Policy is made in Japanese as the authoritative text. In case of any discrepancy between this English translation and the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
